NEW NAWL CAUCUSES

The following NAWL (Campus) Caucuses grew out of exchanges between NAWL staff and university students at the “Campus Cocktails with NAWL” events held across the country in 2006-07. This enthusiasm and desire to support feminist research and advocacy was re-iterated by the young women who attended the NAWL Conference in May 2007 in Ottawa.

If you wish to be active on campus and volunteer your time to help NAWL promote equality-seeking laws and legislative reforms, get in touch with one of these Caucus Coordinators listed below. Each Caucus has a private Blog and Discussion Group that allows its members to strategize and plan activities to support gender equality initiatives at the federal, provincial, territorial, and local levels!

> Carleton University Caucus - Calgary University Caucus
> Windsor University Caucus - Caucus de l'Université de Montréal

CAMPUS COCKTAILS WITH NAWL:
Braving the Anti-Feminist Backlash

The National Association of Women and the Law invites you to a funky feminist shindig.
GET THE SKINNY ON:
        • recent cuts to Status of Women Canada;
        • constraints on feminist advocacy in Canada;
        • December 10th 2006 Rally and March in Ottawa.

GET THE NAWL ZINE (magazine) and PARTICIPATE IN:
        • the feminist fun by becoming a member of NAWL;
        • our reflection on current issues, such as pay equity, family law, religious arbitration,
          maternity/parental benefits;
        • talking back by writing to Harper and your local MP
        • the NAWL conference in May 2007.

Most importantly... NAWL wishes to hear from young women (young in age and/or young to feminism) about their priorities and hopes for feminist advocacy in Canada in 2007!
